PREACH THE WORD!

Apostle Paul wrote in one of his letters;

"Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching"

2 Timothy 4:2.

Biblically, "word" refers to the content of the bible (scriptures) as well as the person of our Lord Jesus Christ.

In the book of John, Jesus was introduced to us as the Word;

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God". John 1:1.

On the other hand, Jesus himself said to the people;

"You search the Scriptures because you think they give you eternal life. But the Scriptures point to me!"

John 5:39.

The focal point of the work of God is about preaching the word of God and in doing so, we are meant to preach about Jesus.

"Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation".

Mark 16:15.

There is nothing wrong with believers having their own opinion or sharing their life experiences to preach, however such preaching must be substantiated by the word of God.

"You see, we don’t go around preaching about ourselves. We preach that Jesus Christ is Lord".

2 Corinthians 4:5

Therefore, to everyone who is involved in the work of God in one way or the other; Preach the Word!

I also use this medium to beseech everyone who is in the habit of looking for 'prophets' to tell them their life history;

"We have a more sure word of prophecy; to which you do well that you take heed, as unto a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts".

2 Peter 1:19

The Bible is the only reliable word of prophecy. It is not a record of man's views, ideas, opinions or perspectives, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit and the compendium of their words produced the bible. 2 Peter 1:20&21.

To this end,If you are in a Church where they seldom make reference to the word of God you are most likely in a cult, shrine or theatre house without knowing it.

“Therefore come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord.”

2 Corinthians 6:17

May the power in the word of God continue to make expression in our lives in Jesus name.

CONFESSION IS REQUIRED!

The bible says;

"The one who conceals his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them will find mercy".

Proverbs 28:3.

According to Mahatma Gandhi;

"Confession of errors is like a broom which sweeps away the dirt and leaves the surface brighter and clearer. I feel stronger for confession".

Confession can be defined as an act of honesty and courage to admit that one has done something wrong. It involves opening up to a sin or crime committed.

Biblically, God demands that we confess our sins, that's why John the Beloved wrote;

"If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.But if we confess our sins to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness".

1 John 1:8&9.

In other words, confession is a prerequisite to obtaining mercy and forgiveness of sins from God.

Relying on the above bible passages alone, one could be tempted to conclude that confession is only to God, for sins are against God just like Joseph said;

"How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?"

Genesis 39:9

However, the bible went further in the book of James 5:16;

"Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another that you may be healed.."

Children of God, the above bible verse captures the crux or the essence of this message;

Many people are hurting, I mean very hurting as a result of wrongs and sins committed against them by another person or persons.

From personal experience, it could be very painful for a victim who was intentionally hurt to cope when the fellow who inflicted the wrong is still flaunting around or denying any wrongdoing to the public.

It is like "adding salt to a wound or add insult to injury!" both scenarios could be very painful indeed.

Hence, in order for a proper healing process both on the wrong doer and the victim, it is essential that the person who commits the offence finds courage to open up, confess and admit the wrongdoing in a bit to aid any sort of reconciliation.

The brothers of Joseph did wicked things against Joseph which were only known to Joseph and the brothers alone.

However, after the death of their father; it became apparent to them that Joseph might want to avenge the evil deeds perpetuated against him.

The brothers subsequently sent a messenger to beg Joseph for forgiveness as they confessed their sins.

Genesis 50:15-21.

Confession is good for the soul; on the part of the offender it will be like a burden being lifted, while the victim no matter how badly hurt, will feel relieved and finds it easier to forgive and move on.

I therefore beseech everyone out there who has done anything bad to another to take a bold step of repentance by praying, then reaching out to those they have hurt to confess their sins; for this is the will of God concerning you.

The Psalmist said:

"I confess my iniquity; I am sorry for my sin".Psalm 38:18

However it is important to seek the counsel of elders or mature believers on how to go about the confession.

"Wisdom is profitable to direct"

Ecclesiastes 10:10.

In conclusion,the

bible also says;

"Many of those who believed now came and openly confessed what they had done".

Acts 19:18

In other words, everyone who genuinely wants to follow Jesus must confess and forsakes his or her evil ways.

I pray that, may God comforts and strengthens everyone who is hurting as a result of any evil or wrong done to them in Jesus name.

YOUR TURNAROUND WILL COME!

And God said;

"In the end I will turn things around for the people..".

Zephaniah 3:9, the Message translation.

A turnaround can be defined as an abrupt or unexpected change, especially one that results in a more favourable situation.

Children of God, it does not matter how long that situation has persisted. When the God of Turnaround steps in, every impossibility becomes possible.

Luke 1:37.

Our Lord Jesus Christ is the one that turns things around. He is the Game Changer!

If you are the type that loves football like I do, you must have witnessed matches where a team does everything but was unable to score any goal, then the coach brings in a fresh player and that player changes the narratives of the match and scores a goal.

That explains the significance of the impact of my Lord Jesus Christ upon my life. I was in a limbo then He stepped in and turnaround my life.Halleluyah!!

Psalm 40:1-3

This same Jesus met the impotent man by the Pool of Bethseda, who had been in that situation for thirty eight years and gave him an instant turnaround.

John 5:1-15

Similarly, the crippled man by the Beautiful gate only heard the name of Jesus from Simon Peter and he got his complete turnaround as he began to walk. The people that knew him before were marveled. He suddenly became the talk of the town.

Acts 3:1-9

I don't know what your own case is, it could be sickness, barrenness, failed marriage, lack of progress, trials, financial struggle, lack of direction,

loneliness, limitations, whatever it is; this too will pass in Jesus name.

When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy.."

Psalm 126:1&2

Brethren, there is nothing too hard that will not be softened by God.Everything in life is ephemeral;

"Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning".

Psalm 30:5b.

The thief that was crucified with Jesus on the cross was at the verge of an eternal damnation until he got his own turnaround as his verdict was changed from Hell fire to Paradise.

Luke 23:32-43

You too can also experience a turnaround if you accept Jesus into your life today.

God will turnaround every unpleasant situation in your life and your testimony will become a reference point for many in Jesus name.
